Volunteer Application Process

For the protection of our volunteers and the children with whom we work, we require an interview and extensive screening process, which will begin after your application is received. You must be 21 years old to apply.

If you are interested in becoming a CASA, you are encouraged to attend a CASA 101 Session. These sessions take place at 5:30pm on the first Thursday of every month. If that time does not work for you please email program@vfccasa.org

How to Become a CASA with Voices for Children CASA

Step 1) Complete the online application here and download the Background Screening Packet

Step 2) Email or Mail completed background check to info@vfccasa.org or 6672 Gunpark Drive #100, Boulder, CO 80301. Both the online application and background screening packet are due by the application date listed for that training session.

Step 3) We  request $40 to help defer the application cost. This can be submitted along with your completed packet via cash/check. To pay via credit card, you can click here  or call the office at 303.440.7059. Scholarships are available if needed. Download scholarship application here and submit with Background Screening Packet.

Step 4) Program Staff and Voices for Children will contact you for an in-person interview.

Step 5) Staff will complete reference checks with references provided.

Step 6)  After a successful interview and reference checks, you may be invited to attend the CASA pre-service training. Trainees must be able to attend most training sessions–it’s not a problem if a scheduling conflict means you might miss one session. The upcoming training schedule can be found here.

Step 7) Upon completion of training, you will be sworn in as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate and you will be able to accept a case whenever you are available.
