Volunteer as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)

CASA is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens to be appointed by the court. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time - and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. Volunteers may be assigned to cases originating in Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, Niwot, Longmont, Lyons, Nederland, Ward, Boulder and rural communities in Boulder County.

Join the board of directors

Support the Voices For Children CASA mission to help break the cycle of child abuse and neglect in Boulder County by joining the Board of Directors.

The Board and its committees provide oversight of the VFC CASA organization, govern the finances, plan and conduct fundraising, promote awareness of CASA in our community, and work for sustainability of the organization.

As a Board Member, you must be available to attend monthly Board meetings on the second Monday of the month from Noon to 1:30pm. You will also serve on at least one committee. Committees set their own meeting schedules but typically meet once a month for an hour, with some individual work between meetings. You'll gain experience on a non-profit Board and develop professional relationships while working with a fun group devoted to the CASA mission. Ambassador volunteers help to sustain an effective CASA program by engaging and educating community members and raising awareness of the agency and its services.

Short on time? The VOICES program was made for you! Ambassadors provide service that fits in busy work and family lifestyles. Ambassadors are asked to commit to a minimum of 4 hours of volunteerism per year.
